Putting my experience to work for you.
Leadership that puts Invercargill First

I wasn’t born into politics, rather, politics found me through my leadership, effective advocacy, and dedication to our community for over three decades. My indisputable experience in governance, business and public representation, positions me well to stand for mayor of Invercargill.

I am an experienced professional with a diverse skill set applicable across various industries, combining leadership, governance, financial management, and customer service expertise.

I understand hard work and have firsthand experience in managing critical responsibilities.

I have contributed to my local economy by starting up my own business, employing senior staff and training apprentices. I have been privileged to hold significant roles in business memberships as a National Industry President (NZARH), Industry Training Organisation Director (HITO), New Zealand Qualifications (NZQA) assurance and quality member for the Targeted Review of Qualifications (TROQ), highest polling female elected Councillor in local government, List Member of Parliament, demonstrating strong strategic planning and community focused decision making. I’ve worked hard to build up my career to make a living for my family.

My most momentous career experience has been a Member of Parliament for New Zealand First. In this position, I represented the views and concerns of all New Zealanders, supported and opposed new laws, actively spoke in the debating chamber on Legislation, question time and ensured that taxpayer money was wisely put under the micro scope holding government of the day to account for budget 2015, 2016 and 2017.
As an MP for NZFirst I was the Spokesperson for the Community and Volunteer Sector, Associate Health Spokesperson, Member of the Commerce Select Committee and an associate member on the Health Select Committee. I developed mental health policy and actively campaigned around New Zealand.

These roles highlight my ability to handle significant responsibilities, make impactful decisions, contribute to the governance and legislative processes for our community. Being an MP showcases my steady leadership, policy development, and public service skills, making this a standout experience in my career I can bring as your mayor.
